If you ever wanted to learn to facilitate support groups, the “Foundations” workshop is the
place to start. The DBSA-Boston model will be featured, taking this workshop is a must for anyone who would like to become a facilitator at DBSA-Boston.

Being an effective peer support group facilitator will give you more confidence and improve your comfort level with any type of group. This workshop is a

comprehensive overview, providing the building blocks of effective peer-support group facilitation. This training, for many, is the first step in learning

how to facilitate a group.

People attending this training need not have any experience facilitating a group, only the desire, and interest to learn. The Workshop includes:

  • Eight hours of professional instruction on group dynamics, the facilitator’s role, safety, techniques, with a practicum. The format is fun and interactive, role-play participation is optional
  • Training Guide. Retail cost of $29.99 is discounted to $5.00-$10.00 for workshop attendees
  • Certificates will be emailed upon successful completion of the 8-hour training.

Limited to 21 participants. Pre-Registration is required. All attendees must
prepay before attending the class. No registrations after the deadline stated below. People that pay, but don’t attend can take the next available class,

the registration fee will not be refunded.

Registration Deadline: Monday, February 15, at 7 p.m. Applications received after this date will be added to our “Waiting List,” and then we will contact

you the morning of Tuesday, February 16 if there is an opening.

Online access to the training room starting at 12 p.m. Workshop starts promptly at 12:30 p.m and ends at 5:30 p.m. There will be two fifteen-minute breaks

and one thirty-minute break mid-class; totaling sixty minutes. All participants will need to have their video on at all times except during the

scheduled breaks. If a participant turns off their video outside of scheduled breaks, they will not be awarded a certificate of completion.
