Sexual Harassment

Dear Friends-Facilitators:

On the last Wednesday of this month, March 30th you are urged to attend a special training by McLean staff on sexual harassment education. We, as an organization, try our best, to provide both a safe emotional and physical space, however, we cannot foresee the future, or control the actions of others. We can learn to take appropriate action and part of doing this is to learn what sexual harassment is and what it isn’t.

So, the Leadership of DBSA-Boston, with the approval of the Share/Care Committee and from the good work of the Training Committee felt that as far as Facilitator Education was concerned, this is an extremely important topic to understand and to learn how it impacts ourselves, members, groups and guests. This is the first time we have offered such a “Mini Training” after years and years of 5th Wednesday training’s.

So, we urge you to plan to attend, if you cannot attend, please let Bob know, and we’ll schedule another training in a few weeks after March 30th, to bring you up to speed.

I plan on attending this important training, and I hope you plan to attend too.

As a result of this training, discussion about your reactions to the information and how this training impacts you as a facilitator, and as a member, will be center-stage at the next Facilitator meeting on Wednesday, April 6th.

I trust that this invitation finds you all well. And, I want to take this moment to thank you all, every Facilitator, for giving of your time, selflessly to our community. Without you, we would not be able to offer DBSA-Boston groups!

Sincerely,

Chuck
